IMTMA - AMG Women Empowerment Initiative concludes

Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) along with the ACE Micromatic Group (AMG) organized a valedictory function for about 25 women mechanical engineers at the IMTMA Technology Centre in Bengaluru on 12 May 2023. The event marked the successful completion of the women’s exclusive programme.

Rajendra Rajamane, Vice President, IMTMA was the Chief Guest. Madhavi Chandrashekar, President, of UDAAN IMTMA was the Guest of Honour. Harish, CEO, Micromatic Machine Tools, TP Sridhar, CEO, ACE Designers, LS Umesh, CEO, ACE Manufacturing Systems, and Balasubramaniam, Head of Vertical Machining Centre, ACE Micromatic were special invitees.

Jibak Dasgupta, Director General & CEO, IMTMA gave the welcome address. P.J. Mohanram, Principal Advisor, IMTMA delivered the vote of thanks.

Speaking on the occasion, Madhavi Chandrashekhar said that it was important to reorient priorities, learn continuously, look at different avenues of learning, network with people and learn from their experiences.

T.P. Sridhar congratulated the students for deciding to be a part of the manufacturing ecosystem by participating in the programme. He added that by doing so the students had taken the best decision of their life.

Recollecting his experience, Balasubramaniam said that he started his career in mechanical engineering as a student at IMTMA in 1997-98 and has been working with the ACE group for the last 25 years. He stressed the importance of good communication skills and the importance of meeting the individual requirements of customers.

Harish expressed his joy in seeing many women engineers attending the programme. He added that mechanical engineers have a secured job and bright future. He wished students all the very best for their future endeavours.
