Growth and development of the machine tool industry:
IMTMA works closely with various government agencies in promoting the importance of a strong and vibrant machine tool industry. Regular meetings with the Department of Heavy Industry (DHI), National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council (NMCC), Planning Commission, Ministry of Micro, and Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) have been held to impress on the government that the machine tool industry is a strategic industry which should be supported for the development of technology and its growth.
IMTMA provides policy inputs to various government agencies on specific issues referred to it from time to time. Important issues on which the association has interacted with members and conveyed policy suggestions are in the import of used machinery, Free trade Agreements/preferential Trade Agreements (FTA/PTA) and others. On all such issues IMTMA has suggested policy measures that will not adversely affect the Indian machine tool industry through their implementation.
You can participate: As IMTMA member your views are important in formulating the industry’s position on various issues that affect the industry. The Association will invite your views on important topics from time to time. We request members to send us a response, to enable the association to consolidate members' views while interacting with Government and other agencies.
